About Us

Antigua Doors roots go back to Danville, California where in 1999, Clay and Gabriela Ramsey founded a boutique retail store. It catered to many of the top architects, builders, and designers in the San Francisco Bay Area. At the time, the door industry was experiencing dramatic change. Many of the old school carpenters and medium sized door shops were rapidly being replaced by mass-producing multinationals. The result was an inferior product with extremely limited custom capabilities. Clay and Gabriela believed that more refined buyers would continue to want a well crafted door with a sophisticated, hand applied finish. They also believed that these same buyers would at times want a specific product that could only be custom built. They were right and their business reaped the benefits by experiencing tremendous growth in the years that followed.
